5. Dairy products

Dairy products contain the proteins which contribute to arthritis pain. Some people are an allergen to this protein which irritates the joint tissues.  Some people have successfully switched their diet to a vegan diet that contains no animal products. However, 2017 studies have shown that milk has anti-inflammatory in nature, except who are allergic to cow’s milk.

If you are concerned about your body reactions to dairy products, cut down the consumption of dairy products for at least a month and the re-introduce to see your body response. People who are allergic to dairy products try to get proteins from fruits and vegetables like spinach, lentils, beans, and quinoa.

6. Smoking

Tobacco and alcohol are very harmful which causes many health problems like respiratory diseases and causes joint problems.  Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a long-lasting inflammatory disease which is caused by both genetic and environmental influences. Smoking develops the risk of Rheumatoid arthritis. Uncontrolled RA causes permanent joint damage and immobility and decreases the quality of life.

A balanced diet, less consumption of alcohol and tobacco and more physical activity leads to an increase in the quality of life.

7. Salt and preservatives

Excess consumption of salts and other additives leads to joint inflammations and swelling in arthritis patients. Less consumption of salts and additives reduces the risk of calcium loss from bones which reduce osteoporosis. People having Rheumatoid arthritis may feel even more adverse effects of salts and other preservatives.

All you have to do is to avoid canned foods which contain hundreds of preservatives. Try to eat organic fruits and vegetables. Add less amount of salt in your food. Try to eat more home-cooked food and add less salt and drink more water.
